This week, for the seventh year in a row, Testify was invited to give a lecture/workshop on software testing in the course ITEVU4340 – Development and Maintenance of Complex Software Systems, which is part of the master’s program in Digitalization and Management at the University of Oslo.
The lecture is structured as a five-hour introduction to software testing. It is based on Testify’s internal testing methodology, developed over many years and grounded in our experience from customer projects as well as relevant academic literature and ISTQB recommendations. We begin by covering general testing principles and our approach to agile testing, including recommendations for organizing testing work and defining a test strategy, before diving deeper into selected testing types and techniques that we consider the most relevant and interesting. Finally, the students get to tackle a practical exercise in model-based testing using our own tool suite for model-based, combinatorial testing: Tomato.
It is always very interesting and enjoyable to be able to present to and discuss with university students, and we hope to have the opportunity again next year!
